My love affair with Italy began when I was no older than 5 years of age, when, upon returning from a business trip to Naples, my father quoted the famous Neapolitan saying..."See Naples and die!!!" That was it, I was sold, imagining a place so beautiful that once seen your life was fulfilled.

And so it began...in the spring of 1991, after spending some years working on a super liner around the south Pacific, and accompanied by my lovely, Italian fiancee, we went to Tuscany. To be exact, to a beautiful little medieval city named PESCIA in the province of Pistoia (PT). Here we worked alongside Lorenzo, my fiancee's uncle, in the Trattoria of my dreams...I learned so much!

Fast forward almost 30 years and here we are in lovely Somerset, me and my sweet husband "Mimmo" beginning a new chapter in our lives. By then, we had owned and run another lovely restaurant/Trattoria high up in the chestnut clad hills above Pescia in the middle of a "Cinghiale........Wild Boar"! reserve. We served simple but delicious local dishes. The same authentic food that we offer here in Bath and the surrounding areas. Our newest venture, "House of Porchetta: Riders Rest Cafe and Trattoria", is a small, family-run business which allows us to offer a small but constantly changing seasonal menu. This ensures freshness and quality, coupled with our passion for producing and sharing delicious simple traditional food. We also serve Traditional Full English Breakfast, Breakfast Baguettes, Panini, etc.

We use only the very best ingredients, ie local, real, farm-fresh, free-range eggs, Italian charcuterie directly from "Madeo", our supplier in beautiful Calabria, and the freshest of herbs grown by ourselves in our small kitchen garden. Our aim is to produce the best authentic products for our discerning customers and share our passion for quality, freshness and tradition.....Buon Appetito! Mimmo and Michelle.
